Abstract: ［Abstract］Objective To analyze the effect of the application of PDCA circulation in the management of oral instruments. Methods From January to June 2015，the head nurses analyzed problems of instruments management according to the outpatient instrument management and requirement standards in the department of stomatology. They followed the "PDCA" circulation principle，put a continuous improvement， and compared the changes in the management of oral instruments before and after 4 months（from March to June and from July to October）. Results After the implementation of the PDCA circulation，the abnormal loss of equipment，numbers of instrument loss and equipment failure rate had significantly decreased，while equipment utilization rate had significantly increased， with significant statistical differences（P < 0.05）. Conclusion The application of PDCA circulation in the management of oral instruments could help reduce the problems of abnormal waste，loss，failure and so on，resulting in improving the instrument utilization rate.
