Correlation between rs4580704 Polymorphism of CLOCL Gene and Type 2 Diabetes and Sleep Quality

  •   Objective   To study the effects of CLOCK rs4580704 site polymorphism on sleep quality, the effect on occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and the possible relevance between the two investigations.   Methods   We tested the polymorphism of CLOCK rs4580704 by time of flight mass spectrum, and compared indicators of genotypes and sleep quality of the case group and the control group respectively.   Results   The proportion of GC type and GG type of CLOCK rs4580704 in the case group was higher than that in the control group. The sleep quality of GG genotype was significantly degraded.   Conclusion   Allele G of CLOCK rs4580704 is possibly associated with sleep quality degradation and the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes mellitus, while allele C is possibly the protective factor.
