Clinical Analysis of Ultra-selective Renal Artery Embolization Coil for Severe Renal Bleeding after PCNL

［Abstract］Objective To investigate the clinical value of ultra-selective renal artery coil and coil + gelatin sponge embolization for severe renal hemorrhage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy lithotripsy（PCNL）. Methods We retrospectively analyze the data of 51 patients with severe renal hemorrhage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy lithotripsy who received simple coil and coil + gelatin sponge superselective renal artery embolization from March 2013 to March 2015 in the Interventional Chamber of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. The hemostatic effect，the incidence of complications and embolism precautions were analyzed．Results　Simple coil embolization was used for 39 patients and spring ring + gelatin sponge embolization was used for 12 patients, and 49 cases of thrombosis were successful（a success rate of 96%），gross hematuria disappeared 1 to 7 days after embolization and microscopic hematuria disappeared and hemoglobin levels increased steadily 3 to 14 days after embolization. There were no serious complications, and no significant changes in blood pressure during one month to one year follow-up. Conclusion Superselective coil embolization of renal artery is a permanent embolization, and is a safe and effective method for severe renal hemorrhage after PCNL.
