Clinical Efficacy of PFNA Internal Fixation in the Treatment of 40 Osteoporotic Intertrochanteric Fractures

  • [Abstract]Objective To observe the difference between proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) Internal Fixation and sliding dynamic hip screw(DHS)in the treatment of osteoporotic Intertrochanteric Fractures. Methods The data of 80 patients with osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture in our department (from November 2012 to November 2013) were retrospectively analyzed. By using the random parallel method,we divided 80 clinic patients into two groups: the treatment group(PFNA group)and the control group. Patients in the two groups were given anti-osteoporosis treatment, patients in the control group were given DHS internal fixation, patients in the PFNA group were given PFNA internal fixation. Then we compared the general surgery conditions, postoperative Harris scores and the clinical efficacy between the two groups.Results Compared with the control group, the PFNA group was better in the operation time,the length of incision, amount of bleeding during operation, average hospital day and Harris grade. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion On the basis of anti-osteoporosis tveatment,PFNA internal fixation can thus be the first choice in the femoral intertrochanteric fracture operation.
