Abstract

Abstract

［Abstract］Objective　To observe the chemotaxis of blood monocyte to three kinds of glioma cell lines（U87，U251 and T98G），and discuss the source of tumor associated macrophages in glioma and its clinicopathologic significance. Method　Transwell assay was applied to observe the chemotaxis of blood monocyte to three kinds of glioma cell lines（U87，U251 and T98G）. Results　The chemotaxis of blood monocyte to the three kinds of glioma cell lines（U87，U251 and T98G）was higher than that in the control group（P＜0.01）. The chemotaxis of blood monocyte to U87 was higher than that of U251 and T98G（P=0.001）. The chemotaxis of blood monocyte to U251 was higher than that of T98G（P＝0.03）. Conclusion　The three kinds of glioma cell lines all have the ability to chemoattract blood monocyte, suggesting that blood monocytes are one of the important sources of glioma associated macrophages，and play an important role in the occurrence or development of the glioma.
