The Effect of Osteoporosis on the Pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis

  • [Abstract]Objective To evaluate the effect of osteoporosis on the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis, and analyze the correlation of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Methods We statistically analyzed the data of 563 patients with osteoarthritis and 439 patients with osteoarthritis, including the bone mineral density,the method of statistics included relevance analysis,x2 of R×C form analysis and variance analysis.Results There was a statistically significant difference in the rate of osteoporosis between the case group and control group, the rate of osteoporosis in case group was higher than the control group. Conclusion The risk of osteoarthritis for osteoporosis patients is 25.320 times of the patients without osteoporosis, osteoporosis may be involved in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis.
