Application of the Combination of Case Teaching and Seminar Teaching in Ophthalmology Teaching for Undergraduates

  • [Abstract]Objective To observe the effect of the combination of case teaching and seminar teaching in the clinical practice teaching of Ophthalmology for undergraduates. Methods We selected 2011 grade clinical undergraduates as the research object, class three and class four were selected as the experimental group(114 people) and given the combination of case teaching and seminar teaching. Class five and class six were selected as the control group(112 people), and given the traditional teaching method. At the end of the course,the students in both groups were given a questionnaire survey and close-book examination,and the results were analyzed by spss19.0 software. Results The questionnaire survey showed there were statistically significant differences in the helping understand the knowledge points, the interest of teaching mode,improving the self-learning ability,and stimulating the creative thinking between the two groups(P<0.05). There were also statistically significant differences in the examination result between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The method of combining the case teaching and seminar teaching is better than traditional teaching method .
