  • Objective To explore the application and effect assessment of high-frequency mono-polar electronic scalpel (HMES) in infant with ankyloglossia diorthosis.Methods From 2014 to 2015, we enrolled 246 patients aged between 1 to 36 month who underwent ankyloglossia diorthosis by HMES.Results 246 patients were successfully completed surgery and no infection and hemorrhage occurred after operation, and the incision healed well.Conclusions The HMES has a good cutting ability and hemostasis effect for soft tissue.Due to many advantages, such as clear surgical field, less trauma, quick hemostasis, high operation accuracy, the high-frequency mono-polar electronic scalpel is in favor of shortening operative time in terms of infant ankyloglossia diorthosis as well as reducing postoperative complications.The HMES is a safe and effective method for infant ankyloglossia diorthosis, and it is worthy of popularization.
