Abstract

Abstract

Individual identification is the main task of the forensic anthropology, and gender identification is an indispensable part of individual identification.There are many methods for gender identification, such as pelvis, skull and so on.But in some cases, these bones are hard to get intact.Due to its unique physiological location, the foramen magnum can be well preserved in Destructive scene.The gender characteristics of the foramen magnum have been studied by many forensic anthropologists and have achieved some success.The review makes an overview focusing on the results of sex identification of the foramen magnum.
