Research Advances in D-dimer/Fibrinogen Ratio and Fibrinogen/Albumin Ratio in Acute Coronary Syndromes

  • Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) represent a group of cardiac acute ischemic conditions resulting from the rupture or erosion of unstable atherosclerotic plaques in the coronary arteries, leading to fresh thrombus formation.In recent years, biomarkers based on the coagulation-inflammation pathway, such as plasma D-dimer/fibrinogen ratio (DFR) and fibrinogen/albumin ratio (FAR), have become a hot research topic for predicting the severity of coronary artery disease. This is due to their close correlation with plaque stability, thrombotic burden, and microvascular dysfunction. This article summarizes the mechanism and clinical application value of DFR and FAR in the assessment of coronary lesions in patients with ACS. It highlights the significance of DFR and FAR in evaluating the degree of coronary lesions, facilitating the formulation of appropriate treatment strategies, and improving patient prognosis.
