The Clinical Value of Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure in Treating Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia

  • [Abstract]Objective To compare the clinical effect of loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) and cold knife conization(CKC) on treating patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN). Methods Eighty-six patients with CIN treated in our hospital during May 2012 and May 2014 were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into observation group and control group depending on the surgical treatment. Forty-three patients in observation group were treated with LEEP and 43 patients in control group were treated with traditional CKC. The clinical efficacy,change of pathology and complications of two groups were compared. Results The operative time, blood loss,hospitalization time and healing time of observation group were significantly lower than those of control group (P<0.05). The consistent rate of pathological and colposcopy biopsy in observation group was 79.07% and 86.05% in control group, there was no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05). The incidence of complications of observation group was 4.65%, which was significantly lower than 16.27% of control group(P<0.05). Two groups had same values in treatment effect, there were no significant differences in cure rate, residue rate and recurrence rate(P>0.05). Conclusions LEEP is an effective method for treating CIN. Compared with CKC, LEEP has shorter operation time, hospitalization time and healing time; also has lower intraoperative blood loss and incidence of complications. It has high clinical value and worth of popularization and application.
