Abstract

Abstract

Objective To explore the difference in knowledge, attitude and behavior of AIDS among adolescent users with new-type of drug between Chinese and Burmese in detoxification center of the Prefecture of Dehong and to provide basis for effective health education activities.Methods A cluster sampling method was used to interview adolescent users with a questionnaire survey in detoxification center of the Prefecture of Dehong.Results A total of 102 people were investigated,50 people were from China and 52 from Myanmar.There was a statistical difference in the survey of AIDS knowledge at the age of 18~25 years old(P<0.05),Chinese scores were higher.Their attitude in which“how much risk of HIV infection about yourself”had a statistical difference(P<0.05).There were significant differences in commercial sexual behavior between Chinese and Burmese(P<0.05).After the use of new drugs,there was 1 case of group sexual behavior occurred for Burmese,the frequency of condom use after drug use was not different from that of the regular sexual partner(P>0.05).At the non-regular partner the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion AIDS knowledge,attitudes and behaviors are different in adolescent users with new-type of drug between Chinese andBurmese.The detoxification centers should carry out different health education activities according to the different knowledge,attitudes and behaviors of the two nationalities.
