Clinical Significance of 5 Infectious Indicators for Patients with Knee Infection

［Abstract］Objective　To explore the clinical significance of white blood cell（WBC），C-reactive protein （CRP），Erythrocyte sedimentation rate（ESR），serum amyloid A（SAA），procalcitonin （PCT）and neutrophil granulocyte percentage（GR%）in patients with knee infection. Methods A retrospective study was conducted from March 2012 to January 2015. One hundred and eighty-five patients were collected in the study. They were divided into knee infection group（A，37 patients） and non-infection group（B，148 patients） according to the results of postoperative blood culture. The values of WBC， CRP， ESR， SAA，PCT and GR% were compared and analyzed between the two groups. Results The values of the 6 indicators in group A were higher than those in group B before operation，with statistically significant differences（P < 0.05）. The values of WBC， CRP，ESR and SAA in group A were higher than those in group B on post-operation day 1（P < 0.05）. However，PCT and GR% were no statistically significance between groups A and B（P > 0.05）. The values of 6 indicators on post-operation days 3 and 7 were no statistically significance between the two groups（P > 0.05）. Conclusion WBC，CRP，ESR，SAA，PCT and GR% showed good reference values for early diagnosis and prevention of infection，which can be used as the screen testing indexes in the early knee infection.
